Is my friend a coward and did he nearly get me killed?
We were waking home. These two guys were harrassing us talking garbage. He noticed one had a knife but didn’t say anything. I didn’t see any knife. Anyway, one of the guys kicked me in the back of the leg and I turned around and told him to FUCK right off or it would get ugly. The other guy asked what I said and I repeated it louder. Then, I turned around and kept walking. The guy slithered (I didn’t hear him) forward and held my one shoulder with his arm and pulled a knife near my throat. I managed to get my hand in the way of my jugular (so he couldn’t slit my throat) and then quickly the situation diffused. He asked how I felt now and I told him to go fuck himself. He walked off.

Still, this doesn’t seem good. Did my friend not say anything because he was scared? He said he thought I knew about the knife but I REALLY doubt that. I wouldn’t have challeneged and then turned my back on someone with an open knife.

So what’s going on?
What’s the deal?
I wasn’t trying to pick a fight (though I would have fought him anyway if he would’ve tried to assault me again when my back was turned, yet I still didn’t know there was any knife.) I thought once I told him to back off it would be done. Not to cower away, but because I thought the situation was over.
That’s why I turned my back, I mean.
Also I would have fought him had he tried ANYTHING more with his knife or movement after he paused with the knife. It was just that we both paused.

What you really should have done was called the police and report an attempted knifing. I’m more concern about the way you reacted to the guy rather than your friend. When someone pulls out a knife, you don’t make the situation worse by telling him to go do something to himself. This isn’t the movies - this is real life.
sacredclay | Feb 01, 2010

I think he was just incredibly startled and didn’t know what to say. I know if I saw someone with a knife, declaring you knew it was there would only get you attacked sooner. Though he didn’t use chivalry, you cannot blame him for being frightened. Most people aren’t as brave as you seem to be.

Whats a reeeallly tragic anime?
I want something reeeealy tragic, but with romance (guy-girl) -NO SMUT OR HENTAI-(agaes roughly 13-16)! I want something sooo tragic/emotional that itll make me cry! By tragic i mean ppl dyin or somethin like that. i dont mean a girl staelin a guy 4om another girl (thats not tragic, its just sissyish + stuuuupid~). If it had some mystery or supernatural, that would be nice. READY GOOD GRAPHICS PLZ! here are some i liked:
Vampire Knight (+guilty) ~ it made me cry a few times, because of zero’s vampire problems + his love for yuki TT_TT
Tsubasa Cronicals - Tokyo Revelations ~ IT WAS SOOOO AWESOME! the part where the *clone* syaouran left was soooo sad! TT.TT

plz add a summary (even if its short) if possible plzzz~

I recommend you to try "Blood+" cause the main character died in the end.

It is a story about vampires, their chevalier and monsters. It has a unique love story between the main character named Saya Otonashi (a true blood vampire) and her chevalier (Knight).

It is also tragic because it involves a fight between a twins where they have to fight until one of them died. There is also a sad thing where one Saya’s brother turns into monsters which is called as Chiropterans.

You can read about the story and characters in http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blood%2B or you can simply search for "blood+" on the internet.

The Astronaut's Wife (the movie), do you love it?
Well, basically what the question says^.
If you haven’t seen it then of course there’s no need to answer it.

I’ve seen it about 3 times and watched the end of it today and i just love that movie! Just wanting to know why you love it too?

I think I like the mean character of spencer (depp) after he is taken over…I just like how he’s rough. haha. I went ahead and ordered it online today so I could watch it more. lol

I just saw it for the first time yesterday.
I loved it, it wasn’t what I was expecting, at all.
Even though it was made about 10 years ago, it seemed so current.

I loved the sci-fi, mysterious, creepy, feeling it gave. Also, a lot of the time I was sort of confused yet it made perfect sense later, I think the ending was very mysterious, and the water thing was very clever. It was somthing you walked away thinking about. I couldn’t stop thinking about it today, I just loved it.

Trapped Ashes

Trapped Ashes
Trapped Ashes (2006)

IMDB rating: 5.50

Plot: Seven strangers on a Hollywood movie studio tour are trapped inside an infamous House of Horror and forced to tell their most terrifying stories to get out alive.

Directors:

Actors: Bartok Jayce,Gibson Henry,Lowell Scott,Miller Dick,Saxon John,Cox Richard Ian,Heindl Scott,deLeeuw Rob,Mina Mina E.,Rekert Winston,Russell Ken,Taylor John R.,Hiruma Yoshinori,Ishibashi Ryo,Ito Yozaburo,Horror,

I know what the obvious thing to do is, but what is right?
I will brief you on the back story first…..I lived with my boyfriend for one and half years. I found out i was pregnant 5 months ago, and he said he didnt want this baby. He moved into his mums house (as the flat is mine). He said alot of nasty things to me like I have done it on purpose to trap him, and I am using him for his money ( unemployed musician!)ect. So there has been alot of horrible things said both ways, I am certinly not whiter then white, but im not the the one who is in the wrong either.

What i consider the ultimate betrayal is that he has told all of his friends and family that Im mad and a user, and has painted me out to be some crazy sperm catcher! Which is not the case. Dispite all of this he definatly wants to be apart of his child life, and I would never ever prevent that.

Anyway, needless to say we are not a couple anymore. Over the past month, I made a real effort to try and get on his good side. I sent him a photo of us, cooked him a meal, and made it clear I wanted to move past this and try and create a family unit. He on the other hand hasn’t even apologized for the things he has said, he really feels justified in everything he has done to me. After a telephone argument, (where he again tried to convince me i was crazy), i siad to him and vowed to myself that i would never ever get into a relationship with him again. i promised myself that i would never be with someone who had such a low opinion of me. I have focused on my job and pregnancy. ( sorry i know im babbling)..

I had a text from him the other day saying he missed me, and wanted us to be a family. I sent him an email telling him we will never be an item and i deserve better. I gave it all the ‘miss independent i can do it all by myself’ talk.

He has said such awful things to me and about me, and left me when I needed him most, and wont even apologize, even after all of this time.
I know the obvious thing to do is to have my baby alone, and be with someone who wouldnt treat me like this, but another side of me is yelling…. Ash, he panicked, You (meaning I) said some nasty things too, my baby deserves for me to at least try and have a family unit, is it really worth not trying over a sorry? Does me being stuborn help the suituation? He is my first love. Can we get back our tight bond we once had? I am 24, he is 27, we are still growing arnt we?

The betrayle of him insulting me to his family and friends means I feel i can never be around them again, (they have obviously agreed with him and been his support), but then should i just get over it?

Im sorry, i know iv babbled on and on, and I probably sound like a silly girl. And I know there is no shame in being a single mother. My mother raised four of us by herseld, and she is a strong women who i look up to.

I cant belive i have turned into one of thoses women who say ‘but i love him’, but i really do. When we were togeather he was the best boyfriend in the world. Should I forgive him, and let him back in? or carry on missing him, hoping thigs will get easier?

Thank you for reading this. Please respond if u feel to ( try not to b
e cruel).xxxx
just o add, to be compleatly fair, in did used to work, but only a temping job. and that was on off. Also, i have a feeling he said and did all this so he could enjoy himself with his friends for a while, and now he has run out of money he wants to come back. Dont get me wrong though, i dont really have a problem with him getting all the partying out his sysyem but i dont want to be used either. However, saying that, he has and will never lie. and i know he loves me . well he thinks he does. wheather thats true or not i dont know. il shut up now
im not sure how to relpy??
Barbra, your post made me cry. my mum calls him a baby, i think u may be right, and please, by no means am i a door mat. i know thats how it comes across. he said he will set up a direct debit for the baby so, as long as he’s working he will pay, and if he isnt working he will pay ?20 per week.
To be honest i think alot of it is lonliness. im lonley without him. but i think ur right. Just not sure if its the fair thing to do for all concerned

It’s a really difficult one because it depends what type of lifestyle you have. I think you should speak to him to always be there for you and your child even if your not together! He clearly misses you! And i know its such a bad thing he said all that to his family and friends but people do all sorts of stupid things when pregnancy is involved. Maybe hes scared about it? Personally i think you just have to talk to him and ask him to be around for you and the child first. You never know what could happen for the both of you after that! Having the baby may bring you two a thousand times closer together and may change the way he treats you. good luck! xxx

Dear one,

In truth, you don’t love this man. You love stability and since he is the father of your child, he represents stability. Well, you couldn’t be more wrong. You couldn’t be more wrong.

He has said and done some unthinkable things. He can’t support you or your child (unemployed musician). He is a coward and a cad for saying you tried to entrap him and on and on. He is a truly horrid little man. AND he is beneath you.

Insofar as loving you? No. Dear one, face the fact that he absolutely does NOT love you - he loves your apartment and loves it that you are a willing bedmate and care-taker. He loves (as if he could love) himself and his independance. He is a large child. You have a baby on the way - please don’t take on raising another child (namely this horrid little man)

Now then. You don’t want him back - you want your dignity back. I suggest - no, I urge - you meet with a counselor to help you develop the tools you need to build the kind of life you want with your child

Now. I don’t know what the laws are in your area but here in the US, fathers are responsible for paying child support. I suggest you contact a good lawyer to determine what your and especially your child’s rights are. Your ex may be required to pay child support whether he likes it or not - in the US, dead-beat parents face jail time.

So the obvious thing is - yes - move on from this man - but protect your child’s rights.

See a good lawyer.

And remember, you don’t love this man - he doesn’t deserve your love.

no one can really tell you what to do, it is totally and completely up to you.

its your decision on whether or not you wish to forgive him and move past it (if you do get back together however i would think it a good idea to not bring it up again in future arguements it will only make things worse) if you really truly love him and feel you can forgive him then you should give it another go, but not just because your having a baby but because you love each other.

maybe it would also be a good idea to try to talk to his family and see what they actually think of the situation they may not have taken his side exactly just it’s easy to believe a one sided story (its always better to talk to people who really love and care about both of you and can give an honest opinion)

as for the mean things said, in the heat of the moment things do get said most of the time people do not mean them you said yourself you also said some things to him i wouldn’t dwell on those thoughts too much

i’d just say talk to him see how he feels also and don’t get back together just because it’s your first love and you feel noone will love you as much because trust me from personal experience this is not true! my first boyfriend and i always argued and said mean things to each other but i took him back every time!! mistake… i now have a wondefrul boyfriend who doesnt talk to me like an idiot and actually respects me, as the old saying goes there’s plenty more fish in the sea!

god now i’m babbling!! :) hope this is of some help to you!!
also, just one last thing - i’m not condoning his actions in anyway but perhaps he did get scared it’s quite a huge deal becoming a father! and he needed a little time to get used to the idea… anyway enough of my talk, talk to each other its the best thing!! x

Dear Mr. President,
Come take a walk with me.
Let’s pretend we’re just two people and
You’re not better than me.
I’d like to ask you some questions if we can speak honestly.

What do you feel when you see all the homeless on the street?
Who do you pray for at night before you go to sleep?
What do you feel when you look in the mirror?
Are you proud?

How do you sleep while the rest of us cry?
How do you dream when a mother has no chance to say goodbye?
How do you walk with your head held high?
Can you even look me in the eye
And tell me why?

Dear Mr. President,
Were you a lonely boy?
Are you a lonely boy?
Are you a lonely boy?
How can you say
No child is left behind?
We’re not dumb and we’re not blind.
They’re all sitting in your cells
While you pave the road to hell.

What kind of father would take his own daughter’s rights away?
And what kind of father might hate his own daughter if she were gay?
I can only imagine what the first lady has to say
You’ve come a long way from whiskey and cocaine.

How do you sleep while the rest of us cry?
How do you dream when a mother has no chance to say goodbye?
How do you walk with your head held high?

How do you walk with your head held high?

You’d never take a walk with me.
Would you?

Revolon double twist mascara?
I bought a tube of the revlon double twist mascara but i dont know if is bad or what the deal is but it came out of the tube in big black blobs and it went on ok…but i dont know has anyone ever used it before and if so did you like it or what is your favorite?

I bought it, and had the same thing happen. I also REALLY didn’t like this product.
My current favorite is the eye brights by covergirl. A close second is Lash stiletto by Maybelline.
Revlon is great, but I have yet to find one of their mascaras that I like.

Black Christmas

Black Christmas
Black Christmas (2006)

IMDB rating: 4.40

Plot: Not all Christmas stories are full of cheer - take the disturbing childhood of Billy Lenz, for example. Born during Christmas, little Billy Lenz suffered from Jaundice because of a liver defect, and was unwanted by his cruel mother (who only saw the husband she’d come to despise when she looked at her son). While she let her true feelings be known to him with beatings and abuse, only his father showed him compassion like a parent should. But on Christmas Eve in 1975, his unfaithful mother gave him one of the most cruelest gifts of all, as she made five-year-old Billy observe his beloved father’s brutal murder at her own hands and those of her lover with a claw hammer. Before burying him under the house, she locked Billy in the attic for good, to hold his silence of what he’d witnessed that night. His only contact from then on was when she came to punish him for making a noise or other such trivial nuisances, while she was with her lover and starting a “new” family. As Billy’s mother fell pregnant with a daughter and treated her with love, which Billy had never experienced with his mother, Billy came out of the attic on Christmas Eve 1991, taking a rolling pin to his mother’s head, and a pointed tree ornament to her lovers eye before leaving his sister as disfigured as he was by blinding her. Before he could finish the job police forced there way in and dragged him off to mental institution and his sister a foster home, whose eye sight was saved in one eye… but not the other. Cut to the present where a security guard has been monitoring Billy’s progress since he came into his care, back in 1991. Knowing full well that during this time for fifteen years, Billy has made a break from this asylum, but never succeeding… until now. Far away, his childhood home is now a sorority house, where nine sisters and their house-mother are celebrating the holiday season together …but tonight they’re about to get a surprise visitor… and it’s not Santa.

12 Days of Valentines, Stuck at 11!?
My boyfriend had an application on his iPhone around christmas, which he loved.
It was called the 12 days of christmas, and everyday he got a gift.

This inspired me to make a "12 Days of Valentines" surprise for him.
I have some nice red envelopes, and even got some black sealing wax to seal them in an old fashioned way. (Which has been a pain, actually, and messy!)

In each one I am going to have a little picture of us, a reason I love him and a gift. And then instructions to find the nexts days gift, (Im hiding them around his room).

I have a bunch of gifts, varying in price. They include, a couple vouchers, some chocolate lollys, a jigsaw puzzle with a doodle of us on it, some accessories for the ipod and some bath things for his feminine side :P

I have 11 gifts now, I need one more, the last one.
I was thinking of knitting a scarf, because he doesnt have one, but I looked up instructions on knitting and ah, I can see me messing that one up.

Ideas please!

3 ideas:

Make an origami heart (ehow) or a folded rose (bloom4ever) - search the internet or email for the links. YA won’t let me post the links.

Laminate a photo of the two of you, made into a bookmark - so it can be a few small pics or just one, glue it to construction paper, then hole punch the top and put twine through the hole.

Isabellas (Oatmeal Cookies)

1 cup butter
1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1 1/4 cups flour

First off, I think this is a brilliant idea!

As for gift ideas, you could always just buy a scarf. However, I can see where you might not want to do that. My best suggestion - fish. I’ve recently found out that you can purchase a beta fish, a bowl, some decorations for the bowl, and food, for under $20. It makes a great gift; they’re gorgeous creatures and they aren’t hard to take care of by any means. You just have to feed them and clean their bowl every so often. (If he has a sense of humor, sea monkeys are great too!)

Another idea is to go to the store and buy two foam swords, silly string, playdoh, and chalk. Draw a big valetine’s message on his driveway before he gets home from school or work. When he gets home, the two of you can spend some time exploring your inner children with the gifts mentioned above. It’s the gift of fun, laughter, and time.

Good luck and Happy Valentine’s Day!

MSU cursed by high hopes
15.10.09
MSU cursed by high hopes Lynn Henning / The Detroit News

East Lansing — That was some how-do-you-do from Mark Dantonio’s team as Michigan State got on with the business of becoming a college football monster.

Central Michigan: Oops. A big day from Chippewas maestro Dan LeFevour, a botched onside kick, and suddenly the Spartans were dealing with a 29-27 welt that instantly left them in the same category as a banged-up football player: day-to-day.

Notre Dame: Yikes. An easy pass interception that went through cornerback Chris L. Rucker’s paws as if the ball were coated in Pennzoil, followed by Spartans quarterback Kirk Cousins’ throw that overshot Larry Caper, all before another Cousins pass was on target to a Notre Dame defender, and the up-and-coming Spartans were suddenly down-and-going, 33-30.

Wisconsin: Ooomph. The big, bad Badgers, who seem to chainsaw their players from forests and haul them to Madison, laid another lump on the Spartans, 38-30, to leave Michigan State’s once-mighty team — and aspirations — in a smoldering, dispirited heap.

Well, not exactly.

Not so fast

The Spartans have revived to win two consecutive Big Ten games. They are 3-3 overall, 2-1 in the conference, and favorites to make it 3-1 in the Big Ten if they can contain Northwestern Saturday at Spartan Stadium.

If that scenario isn’t tempting enough to reinvigorate MSU’s fans, a victory Saturday would set the table for a potentially ground-pounding contest Oct. 24 at Spartan Stadium when Iowa arrives for a 7:05 p.m. game, which could be far more compelling theater than anything that has ever been staged at the nearby Wharton Center.

Dantonio appeared to be of the same mind Tuesday as he took a mini-break at Spartan Stadium, moments before heading off to the Skandalaris Football Center and to his weekly Big Ten satellite media conference.

“I feel good,” Dantonio said. “I’m not disappointed.

“I feel like we’ve come to play. We’ve been in every game. And we’ve had opportunities to win every game. We’re hanging in there. If we were 6-0, I wouldn’t feel any different with Northwestern coming in than I do now: We need to win Saturday.”

Dantonio’s inherent problem is that he and Michigan State had a bit of success during his first two seasons in East Lansing. Winning seven and nine games, respectively, simply accelerated ideas within MSU’s galaxy that 2009 would be a step up from MSU’s 2007-08 ascent.

But college football these days tends to be a more democratic game, with scads of teams capable of winning. And the Spartans, while deeper and more talented than they have been in years, are still a tad shy in defensive game-changers, particularly in the secondary, where they have more bodies than demolition experts.

And yet the Spartans are still in decent shape to have a plus season and earn a bowl-game ticket. They could yet contend for a Big Ten championship, which isn’t necessarily a stretch, given that Ohio State isn’t on the schedule and Iowa and Penn State must play in East Lansing.

Factor in a single statistic and the situation becomes clearer, both in terms of what Dantonio has done since arriving before the 2007 season, and for what MSU yet can achieve this autumn: The Spartans are 10-3 in their last 13 conference games. It’s the best such mark since the 1989-90 seasons when MSU came within a whisker of playing in a couple of Rose bowls.

Dantonio’s team has gotten the benefit of a recruiting surge since he arrived in December 2006. The Spartans are solid at the line of scrimmage and brandish nifty skill players. They have two impressive redshirt-sophomore quarterbacks in Cousins and Keith Nichol, who have been taking turns starting, either because of their complementary skills or because of injury.

And they have more in the warehouse: Andrew Maxwell, a freshman and franchise talent from Midland who could see his freshman redshirt vanish Saturday because of injuries to Cousins and Nichol; as well as Joe Boisture, a four-star recruit from Saline High and a verbal commitment for 2010.

Deep but troubled

Part of MSU’s revival under Dantonio is purely the product of depth. Too many years of thin rosters ravaged by academic casualties, bad recruiting, or recruiting numbers thinned by old probation sentences, have given way to full 85-man divisions laced with higher-grade talent.

The Spartans last week lost their top running back: powerful sophomore Glenn Winston, who tore up his knee on the artificial turf at Memorial Stadium, where MSU conked Illinois, 24-14. Winston’s exit, while somber, simply forced the Spartans to turn their superb freshman, Caper, into Dantonio’s new workhorse.

Why, though, did the team stumble in such ugly fashion after winning its season opener against Montana State? Why the capitulation to CMU’s LeFevour, who torched the Spartans secondary as if it were the Chippewas’ scout squad? Why the falloff at Notre Dame after MSU had come back to take a pair of leads against a beatable Irish squad?

How, also, could MSU have nearly invited a fan riot at Spartan Stadium when it allowed Michigan two touchdowns in the final five minutes of regulation before pulling out an overtime victory? The blown lead sent even lifelong Spartans fans heading for the exits before overtime, so sure were they that this finish would be a cruel re-run of previous horror shows.

“Realistically, I thought this team was looking at seven, maybe eight, victories this season,” said Mark Moyer, a Birmingham media sales representative, and MSU season-ticket holder since 1980. “I never bought the idea that so many of the fans had that they were winning nine games or more.

“I figured their defense would be the foundation while the new quarterbacks and the offense were learning to play. But then the defense really wasn’t ready, and that wasn’t a surprise. They were still breaking in a relatively young team. I’d say the last couple of weeks have been more of an indication of where they’re headed.”

The Spartans are still hunting for those bloodthirsty defensive shutdown artists, the kind they featured during their mid-’60s heyday in Bubba Smith and George Webster, the brand of shredders BCS-caliber teams invariably showcase.

“You’re always looking for defensive playmakers,” Dantonio said. “And a lot of times you have ‘em, but they don’t have the knowledge or experience yet against different teams and sets. Adjusting slows them down.

“We’ve got one of those players now in Chris Norman (freshman linebacker from Detroit Renaissance). But when you see a different offense every week, and the rapid changes in pass coverage, he becomes a player who hasn’t quite arrived.

“It’s simple but complex,” Dantonio said. “This week we’ll see another team (Northwestern) with a spread offense. But even the spread-offense teams are all different.”

So, too, are the challenges for a head football coach at a major university, trying to achieve what every team and fan base craves: not mere victories but championships. In the American society’s realm of workplaces and directives, there are easier assignments, for sure.

Dear brothers and sisters in Islam,

It pains me to see that many people insist on believing and in fact stating that our religion began with Prophet Muhammad saaws..

We Must remember that Prophet Muhammad saaws was the SEAL and last of our prophets and that this means there where people following Islam before our final rasool..

One thing that it pains me the most to hear is when we as Muslims refer to Moses and past events such as the Exodus as belonging to those who call themeselves Jews today.

We all accept that these prophets where in fact Muslim as they submitted their will to non other than Allah swt.

What I would like people to realize is this what passes today as so called "Jewish" History is in fact in its PURE form…Islamic history. From the Temple of Salomon pbuh to the parting of the red sea.. of course I did say in its pure form meaning without the additions of the rabbis and changes that have occured that have polluted such history.

What is today called Judaism if we remove the latter additions the changes the Talmud entirely is actually Early Islam.

Salaams :)

So Weird.

Islam was a much later addition to world faiths.
