I'm looking for a good audition piece, preferably from a Broadway musical, for a mezzo soprano?
I’m 14, female, freshman in high school, so something okay for that age would be preferable. Musicals I am most familiar with: Sound of Music, Mary Poppins, Beauty and the Beast, Les Miserables, Lion King, West Side Story, Hair, Hairspray, Guys and Dolls, Annie, Bye Bye Birdie, South Pacific, Finian’s Rainbow, Wicked, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Avenue Q, Applause, Sugar, Aladdin, pretty much all disney that kind of music. if you think anything from one/some of those musicals would be especially good I would like to know because it would be nicest to do something familiar but I’m open to anything. to get a sense of my range: I’m Not That Girl from Wicked, that last note is low for me, possible but difficult and doesn’t show my voice off as well; the high note in Seasons of Love from Rent is almost reachable for me, but my voice starts cracking so a few notes below that would be kind of the limit for highest notes because I want it to be my voice at its best. The Mood Swing

Some days I hate the world,
And some days I love life,
One day I want to smile,
And the next I want to cry.

Some days I feel on top of the world,
And some days I live in hell,
One day I know just how I feel,
And the next I just can’t tell.

It’s like one minute I’m up,
And the next I’m down,
One minute I’m flying in the sky,
And the next, falling to the ground.

My feelings are polar opposites,
One or the other extreme,
I’m always either hot or cold,
Unless I’m in between.

It’s kind of like I’m on a swing,
So I try to enjoy the ride,
Just live every day to the fullest,
And make the most out of life.

Blind Fury (1989) IMDB rating: 5.80 Plot: Nick Parker was a Vietnam vet who got blinded during the war. He would be found by one of the local tribes. They would teach how to handle a sword. He would eventually become quite good with it. He would then return to the States and would visit an old Army buddy. When he gets there, he discovers that he and his wife are divorced. What they don’t know is that he (his friend) was playing in a crooked casino in Vegas, and accumulated a large debt. The owner’s willing to forget his debt, if he does something for him. His friend is a chemist and they want him to make some designer drugs, and in order to make sure he does it they try and kidnap his son. But lucky Nick is there, Nick saves his son but not his wife. Is A Maltese Dog To Much Work For A 17 Year Old Girl?
Ok so im 16 about to be 17 on feb,16 so my birthday is right around the corner and im hopelessly confused and need some advice desperately, today i talked to my dad who im going to move in with in a week and he’s known for about 2 months know that I’ve been wanting a maltese for my birthday i believe that i have gained enough responsibility to take care of a dog. I understand its allot of work and responsibility and it takes allot of care and patience and there not just toys you can play with and put away after your done with it. I haven’t done good with dogs when i was younger because i wasn’t really ready to have one nor did i understand the responsibility they came with so I’ve had about hmm…3 or 4 dogs in my lifetime and they where all given away to family members the reason why was because i wasn’t mature or responsible enough. Anyways back to what i was saying so my dad calls me and we talk about the dog its funny because a couple of weeks ago he kept saying how a dog would be nice to have and how he thinks im mature enough for one he also said "yea there allot of work but if u you think you can handle it and take good care of it i don’t see why u shouldn’t get it." So today he calls and its a whole DIFFERENT STORY he went on and on how "People who have dogs have NO LIFE’S!" "You have to live your life for a dog once you get one you wont be able to sleep anymore they have to go potty every 3 to 4 hours, they always bark, you wont be able to stay out of the house for more than 3 hours, you have to rush home every minute, you cant go out to eat anymore, and the dog will chew up your clothes and bed sheets!" He went ON AND ON for a whole hour he also said "And if you decide you want this dog it’ll mess up your college courses/classes so lets say if you have 6 or 5 classes a week you cant if you have a dog you can only have like 3 and you always have to stay home with it you just wont have a life!" Wow i couldn’t believe what i was hearing first he said i can do it now he says i cant and if i want one i wont have a LIFE anymore and its a big mistake and that i’ll get rid of it in 2 weeks and you always have to be home (Witch im home most of the time anyways!)! Can someone PLEASE HELP ME! Now i feel totally sad because my dream of wanting a Maltese is crushed cause he made it seem like its the worst thing in the world….is it? Please i need some advice

I am a college student and I have two dogs a basset hound and a dachshund. Your father sounds like he is trying to scare you out of getting a dog.

Anyone who has had them knows w/ proper training dogs are just fine to be left alone for some time…a reasonable amount, not like days at a time.

They are a responsibility unlike anything you’ve probably encountered before, unless you’ve had a child. They are alive. They need to use the bathroom, they need exercise, they need all the interaction most people need.

I take 6-7 classes a semester and it has never been a problem to have my dogs at home in a pen (not crate that long).

You need to think about what you want to do for college though..A dog isn’t something you get for 2 years then give away when you move into a dorm ( some colleges require it for your first year)…its a bond for life. Period.

Dogs ARE a lot of work, and take A LOT of time, and it is 100% true that a dog alters your life, although obviously your dad was exaggerating about a few things, likely trying to talk you out of the dog. However, I think it would be a big mistake to get a dog now. Your life is about to become extremely busy and stressful and exhausting and financially unstable. You may be ready for a dog right now, but in a year, it might be a completely different story. I would wait until you are settled into college before you make the decision regarding whether or not you’re ready for a dog. When you are finished with your classes for the day and have a few hours of homework to get started on, balancing friends and activities and maybe a part time job on top of everything else, are you going to want a dog added into the equation? Are you going to want to have to turn down overnights and road trips with your friends, because there is no one to watch your dog? Are you going to want to spend what very little disposable income you have on dog food, hefty vet bills, and everything else a dog requires? Are you going to want to come home at the end of the day, dead on your feet, and leash your dog up for a long walk? What about a dorm? Forget finding a dorm that will allow a dog. And when you’re ready to find an apartment, do your realize that it’s very hard to find one that accepts dogs, and the ones that do require a large non-refundable pet-deposit?

A dog may not be too much work for a 17-year-old high school student, but it just might be too much for an 18-19-year-old college student. Until you KNOW it won’t be, and the only way you can know is to wait until you are in college, I wouldn’t get a dog. It’s not fair to the dog, and it’s not a good idea for you, either. If you start college, and realize that you have a lot of energy and time left over, then consider a dog. A lot of college students have dogs and it works out fine. Until you know for sure though, I would wait.

what to do about a tow truck driver who went though my car and stole many ?
my car was taken and that @ss holes would not let me get any of my stuff out of the car, when i got in and would not get out i rolled the window down and started passing thing to my hubby they called the cops but they never came. the other driver got in the car and pulled me out i kicked him in the balls. and told him if he did not get his hands off me i was going to kill him. my hubby pulled a knife and told them to get the F*** off our grass. well i started to get back in the car and they took off with it.

we called the cops again and they said they would send someone out 2 hrs later they did, well the comp. never did a report on taken the car, 5 days later we got the car back my over $1100 of stuff was taken my hubby runs a computer repair shop and also has lots of parts in the car.

the bbb has no report of these people, any though of who i can talk to about bringing criminal charges up.
no it was not a repossession and it was parked at my house in my drive way.
for the @ss who "knows the law" you don’t know shit, and i have 3 people who lived next door who wrote down everything that happened. and i have the ER report from where they pulled me out and dislocated my wrist, so bit me.

Teens: What is the most?
Has anything happened this week to you, that made you feel great? Like almost proud of yourself?

Yesterday my co-worker came up to me and told me how great I look and how I must be losing a lot of weight. It made me very proud because I have been working out to lose 20 pounds and I guess it has been paying off. I have never been heavy, but I am toning up and trying to lose the weight I put on. I am so happy that I am starting to get results for my hard work.

Mine is The Frog Princess. I loved the music and it was so good. It made me laugh and cry and dance. I just love old school Disney and this was so much like the old movies.

Obama did have dual citizenship, but it expired when he became an adult. But that doesn’t matter to Obama’s eligibility. The US doesn’t care what other countries can claim nationality. US citizenship is what matters.
